  • Ryan C. Murdock
    Dr. Murdock received his B.S. in mechanical engineering and M.S. in biomedical engineering at the University of Rochester. He then attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh where he met his wife. During residency at the University of Maryland he had extensive training in orthopedic trauma and fracture care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center as well as extensive training in spine surgery. During his residency he also received specialized training in pediatric orthopedic trauma and fracture care as well as pediatric spine surgery at Johns Hopkins University. During his pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia his training focused on the treatment of pediatric fractures, spine disorders such as scoliosis, and hip disorders such as hip dysplasia. Dr. Murdock and his wife, daughter, and son are enjoying all of the amazing opportunities that Austin has to offer to families such as the festivals, parks, trails, and great food. They continue to be excited to have Austin as their home town. Dr. Murdock looks forward to opportunity to care for your child with orthopedic needs of any kind.

  • M. Catherine Sargent
    Dr. Sargent was Assistant professor and physician advisor for the Division of Orthopaedics with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 2005-2009. She serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Texas and is a reviewer for Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Sargent is married to her husband, Tom and has a young son, John Paul. Dr. Sargent was recently featured on KXAN news commenting on genetic testing in adolescents to determine athletic ability.

    Dr. Ellington, a native Texan, received his BA in mathematics at Austin College in Sherman, TX where he was a four-year starter in football. He went on to medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern, where he met his wife Meghan who is a PA. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Scott and White in Temple, TX. He then sought additional subspecialty training in pediatric orthopedics at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. While there, he advanced his special interest and expertise in treating sports injuries in children and adolescents, as well as pediatric hip disorders. He is thrilled to be in Austin with his wife, young daughter, and chocolate lab. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors with his family, barbecuing, and sports.

    Having been born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Kaufman and his wife, Shelby, were happy to leave winter behind and are now proud to call Austin their home. Dr. Kaufman’s medical training began in Washington, D.C. where he enjoyed thirteen years in our nation’s capital and found both his love of medicine and his lovely wife. While a resident, Dr. Kaufman focused on advanced spinal surgery techniques and the specialized care of pediatric patients at The Children’s National Medical Center. After successfully completing his residency training, Dr. Kaufman accepted a clinical fellowship at the Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. During his fellowship, Dr. Kaufman received extensive training from world renowned surgeons in the management of scoliosis, complex spinal deformities, neuromuscular disorders, skeletal dysplasia, and hip dysplasia. Dr. Kaufman and his wife enjoy hiking, camping, and finding hidden swimming holes. They love to cook and are always on the lookout for restaurant, music, and festival recommendations!
