HILTON
GOTTSCHALK

GENERAL PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDICS, PEDIATRIC HAND + UPPER EXTREMITY SPECIALIST

SAY HELLO TO

DR. GOTTSCHALK

The hardest part of this job is that once you help a child get better, they no longer need you! At the end of the day, it is all about improving the quality of life for our patients. I love hearing from parents months and years after an injury. Seeing children achieve their goals and dreams makes all the hard work worth it!

I have two very rambunctious children of my own, Chance and Ella, who keep me on my toes. And most importantly, I'm blessed with a very, very patient wife."

OFF THE RECORD

FUNNIEST MOMENT

I can barely pronounce my last name, much less having kids pronounce my last name.  I have been called Dr. “Chalkboard”, Dr. “Sidechalk”, Dr. “Baldspot” (I do not have a bald spot ... Well at least I can’t see one)

I have the sense of humor of a 9 year-old boy, so I truly love working with kids-- I'm very passionate about it.  I am a strong believer in mother’s intuition.  My hope is to take care of your child the best way I know how and provide an environment where you and your child feel like you are part of the family – assuming you really like your family."

WHAT ARE YOU FAMOUS FOR AT CTPO?

My amazing voice and dance moves!  Demo? - Just ask!

FAVORITE THING TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK

Tennis and Fishing.  Though the two don’t go well together at the same time.

SUBSPECIALTY FOCUS

My subspecialty interests include treatment of adult and pediatric hand and upper extremity disorders including fractures, sports injuries, and congenital disorders.

WHAT DOES FAOA MEAN?

This designation after a surgeon’s name means that the surgeon has achieved recognition for exceptional accomplishments and leadership in the orthopedic specialty. AOA Members have a demonstrated commitment to leadership in the various areas of orthopedic practice.

Membership is earned at the end of a stringent peer-reviewed process. Fewer than 10% of practicing orthopaedic surgeons have achieved AOA Membership.

TESTIMONIALS

“My active 10-year-old daughter wasn’t sure what to expect when we walked into CTPO with a broken hand (in two places). Dr. Gottschalk’s staff was so sweet, welcoming and absolutely amazing. He won over Tatum’s heart and eased her fears from the very beginning.

She says he is the funniest doctor and the best doctor she has ever met!

We are so thankful and blessed to have been in his care”
