OUR HISTORY
Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics was founded in 1990 by Dr. Jay Shapiro, with the mission of serving Austin's community and setting the standard for exceptional pediatric orthopedic care.
Now with locations in Austin, Cedar Park, Westlake, Round Rock, and South Austin, we are a growing team of more than 70, including an amazing group of over 20 talented healthcare professionals all focused on taking care of the children of Central Texas.
Our 10 physicians are all pediatric fellowship-trained and certified in orthopedic surgery. Each of our 6 physical therapists along with our occupational therapist hold advanced and specialized degrees and focus solely on the rehabilitation of children and adolescents.

We aim to keep this specialized care close to home by offering 3 office locations and 5 physical therapy locations
We take the time to explain everything from cast changes to surgeries to both our patients and their parents.
It is our mission to guide children through trying times by restoring function with compassionate care and making the process as smooth as possible.
We utilize the latest technologies to minimize radiation exposure with 3D modeling of the body for treatment of complex surgical problems.

With that in mind, our goal is to provide exceptional pediatric orthopedic care for the children of Central Texas, allowing each child to maximize their health and quality of life.
